the golden gate. zooming in, this moderate downpour in santa rosa, and over the golden gate, santa rosa, daly city, oakland, all light rain. but the heaviest is in the overnight hours. >>> the wet weather is already causing some concerns for residents in san rafael. reggie kumar is live in the downtown area. >> reporter: the rain is already coming down here at a pretty steady pace. phone service was knocked out to some residents from the previous storm. but that service has since been restored. crews are still digging out from the previous storm. they're hoping this latest one doesn't pack a punch. at&t crews were hard at work drying out the phone lines near 3rd street in san rafael. tuesday night's wet weather wasn't helping while workers used this hose to blow air underground to dry the lines. some who live here are still dealing with a muddy miscellaneous left behind by sunday's powerful storm. >> i got slammed, and my basement and storage shed got a couple of inches of mud. digging out, drying out. >> reporter: some residents in west marin tell me these large trees are a reminder of what

for tomorrow. visibility right now, with just under 2 mi. in santa rosa, 2 mi. at half moon bay. reduced visibility in redwood city, mountain view and is only going to get worse, overnight. areas of dense fog expected overnight so give yourself some extra time. friday, saturday we will also be seeing morning fog will not be as bad. the afternoon sunshine is expected as we take a look of the satellite and radar. we are not seeing much rain but still, feeling that affect. temperatures in the 40's and 50's. 44 in santa rosa. upper 40's for the inland valleys. as for the afternoon highs? temperatures not warming it that much. 60s through cupertino, mountain view, 61 degrees in santa clara. also the 60s for the east bayshore. alameda at 59 degrees. upper 50s near the coast. and upper 50s for the north bay. a look at your extended forecast. we will see clearing tomorrow with the same on friday, saturday. as we go towards a sunday and early next week. slightly warmer temperatures. but still about average for this time of year. >> coming up later, a new football coach at cal. the name banta numb

to the north bay. this is where we are seeing the coldest numbers, 35 santa rosa. 47 -- 46 in nevado. 34 degrees in napa. near freezing in some cases and in nevadonapaer part -- concord visibility down to a quarter mile. again through the delta as well. you are going to find patches of dense fog. be prepared for your visibility to drop off suddenly. this will be through the morning hours if you have the early morning drive. for the afternoon high clouds in the forecast, some sun, and again temperatures a lot like yesterday, perhaps slightly warmer some some areas, giving you a look at the forecast. through the 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 hour. the patchy dense fog will stay by the late morning, early afternoon it's burning away to be replaced by high clouds that will shift overhead. a look at the afternoon high. 62 for nevado. 61 san rafael. 60 for pacifica. in around the south bay 62 for mountain view. morgan hill. 63 loss gatos the extended forecast. a cold cold start to the morning but we will feel better by ten or so. tomorrow winds will come our way and a breeze kicking up tonight into tomorro

later, the latest on the power outages. 18,000 utility in the sonoma, particularly in santa rosa. elsewhere in the north bay, 6400 experiencing powd power outages and also 2200 people in the san francisco. 1300 are on the dark on the peninsula. with that flash flood a flash flood watch for the north bay also has cities near the russian river on alert. water levels have risen onto land in some parts of guerneville. and even though it's normally a slow-moving river... >> with 6-7 ft. it begins to get scary. we have to think about leaving town, turning off electricity, gasoline. and so forth. >> the national weather service says that it could be possibly a flooded road to a.m. with noon tomorrow reaching the highest levels. in this video shot yesterday, you can see that the river is rising fast. flooding, every decade or so, is not uncommon. the last serious threat was in the first days of january 06 of course the possibility always makes residents nervous. the national weather service says the russian river will flood guerneville around 2 a.m. monday... highest point around noon t

in shot of 8 in. the same for sam rafeal. santa rosa more than 6 in. of rain and smaller amounts of the south bay. your temperatures out the door to a lot of forties'. where a jacket. low forties' for napa in vallejo. temperatures will continue to drop as we head in closer to sunrise. 51 in san francisco. mid 44 redwood city in san mateo. your afternoon highs look like upper 50s low 60s. it will be a cooler after known around the bay area. satellite and radar we will see in increase in a cloud cover through the course of today. into tomorrow we are tracking the potential for some rain. futurecast 4 set of 4:09 a.m. tuesday morning at lot of cloud cover light rain north of santa rosa. the system we are tracking to stay in to win state it is not a huge frame maker compared to what we saw this weekend. 12:00 p.m. tuesday some light rain for vallejo, napa, and fairfield. it is not until later tomorrow night we will start to see rain for the coast line, san francisco. picking up in intensity into the overnight hours. at 9:00 a.m. wednesday we could pick up water rain for parts of the

santa rosa is a couple degrees warmer. san francisco 47. good morning redwood city, 48. 49 in mountain view and a mild, relatively speaking, 50 in san jose. that's five degrees above where you were yesterday but it's really fremont and livermore that are experiencing the much warmer conditions. not much change-up in san rafael, and subtle changes along the coast in san francisco. boy, a pretty mild to start out. just in the last hour numbers coming up along the shoreline. we will look for a little bit of fog here and there, but overall with the cloudy skies this morning that's keeping us a little warmer. then by the afternoon the winds will take over and that's going to usher in a slightly milder air mass. high pressure over the bay area continues to bring that sub continuance and that warming today and tomorrow. but by tuesday it will be coming to a screeching halt as we look for another wind shift. the temperatures will drop and then we will look for showers to head our way late tuesday into wednesday. so some of the forecasted highs today low to mid-60s, and, yeah, for early decembe

one. santa rosa had almost an inch of rain. there is heavier amounts toward the russian river. st. helena two-thirds of an inch. napa half inch of rain. kentfield only .18. and crockett had 15. things are a lot less. you can see some of that beginning to slide south. out of santa rosa area. heading from marin county toward the east bay. we had a couple reports of more moderate rains. especially around vallejo but it looks like that is moving through. concord right now highway 4 a little enhancement. back over toward east bay. little bit there. offshore you can see there is definitely some heading towards the city and san mateo coast. really mild. 50s and 60s. 63 balmy degrees in livermore. our whole system will plot along giving us a gray day with occasionally light rain and fog as we said. temperatures on the mild side. nothing too heavy here. maybe some of the higher elevations. 60s on the temps. this is it for this pattern. things will change or dry out. you'll have to deal with a ton of fog nights and mornings thursday and friday. >>> a brazen theft got a christmas tree lot th

morning james. you consider rance lies in the bay in half. not seen any rain for santa rosa in pelham light rain in the south bay. as we take it to san francisco under the yellow heavy rain from masonic avenue 2 market street heading into downtown san francisco. scissor chavez avenue heading out of the city. sunset boulevard contending with heavy downpour. the rain starts to lighten. it will need to use her when she wipers we're catching a bit of a break in concord. light rain for pleasant hill, walnut creek. that will continue to push south and east. as we turn our attention to the east bay piedmont, oakland, emeryville getting heavy rain. for lasalle park will bart and for those of you driving along broadway. in the south bay is not to bad for sunnyvale and santa clara. san jose, cupertino, and los gatos is where we are seeing him rain. that is not as bad as interstate 280 you may want to consider 101 if you can this morning. looking at your day planner mostly cloudy conditions and some off and on showers as we head into the afternoon. tomorrow looks to be a dry one. a mix of sun an

into healdsburg, santa rosa, bodega bay, we're seeing some of this rain. we'll continue to see the scattered showers. guerneville you are looking a few showers. napa, vacaville and fairfield. this will remain over the north bay through most of the afternoon. hit or miss showers, periods of rain, a few periods of dry weather. it will spread south and when it does, the steadier rain will begin to move our way. coming up, i will tell you when we can expect the evening drive, when we'll see the heaviest rain and when we'll be dry. >>> in san mateo county, road crew are the trying to shore up highway 1 before the rain tonight. they are trying to stop erosion from the weekend storm in pacifica. that will mean traffic delays in the area the highway was completely shut down overnight until the work began at 9:00 a.m. there are one-way controls in place right now. they hope to have everything back open by 3:00 this afternoon. >>> in a couple of hours, the san francisco board of supervisors will cast their final vote on the public nudity ban. brian flores joins us live from san francisco. there's stil

40s this morning in napa and santa rosa, even livermore. but since then the win has allowed for better mixing and that mild air coming into play with the warmer air mass bringing temperatures a bit above normal today, tomorrow, but cooler weather, and a wind shift with stronger on shore winds on tuesday. that will bring the temperatures back into the 50s and then a pretty wet weather maker, a cold one, arrives on wednesday. it looks like it might mess with your wednesday morning commute, as well. you notice the clouds as they move around this big ridge of high pressure, and as they do it's allowing for the winds in the higher elevations, that sinking, subsiding air and warming as we get down to the surface. so as high pressure stays with us the next couple days, it keeps the storm track well up into canada. we are looking not only at the milder weather here, but, in fact, gusty winds in southern california where there is a fire weather watch for san diego. so experiencing unusually warmer weather with plenty of 60s. less tulie fog and numbers in the mid-40s in the sierra nev
